There is abundant evidence that the monastery of Saint Nikon of Kievo-Pechersk and Tmutarakan' was located on the Lysaya mountain (near the Old Russian town Tmutarakan'; the village Taman', the Krasnodar region, Russia) (1).
Several years ago I found a fragment of a handle of an Old Russian amphora on a slope of this mountain, see figure 1. The length of the item is ca 11 cm. An important point is that the artifact is decorated with a Cross.
